Keen to reach a German audience, the PEL team approached our CEO at an event where he was a guest speaker. They needed strategic advice on a ‘start from scratch’ project – launching their services in Germany. With no prior presence, and as an unknown brand, in this new market, the team were unsure where to start. An added complication was having no German-speaking staff in-house, and a huge amount of unique products to promote in a different language.
It was imperative for us to find a translation agency that could understand – and communicate – the nuances of our products. Integro has done just that.
Without any in-house German speakers on our team, it was vital we could trust that any translations were error-free.
Our core audience work in, or for, museums, galleries and archives and our customers include institutions all over the world. Because we sell a number of fairly unique items, we wanted to make it easier for our overseas customers to find our products – which may not be readily available, or as competitively priced, in their domestic market.
High-quality, accurate translation was, and remains, absolutely essential for us. Being a niche business and providing a specialist service and range of products, it’s impossible to rely on machine translation with so many technical terms and unusual words. And without any in-house German speakers on our team, it was vital we could trust that any translations were error-free.

We worked with PEL to develop a back-to-basics marketing strategy. It was clear to us that a comprehensive content marketing approach would mean running before they could walk. Instead, we focussed on a soft launch of their core range of bestsellers, starting with localised technical term keyword research, crafting core messages and building an e-commerce website – all navigable in the target market. Search trend analysis by native experts was essential to ensure their products were correctly understood and easily searchable.
When you’re entering into a new market for the very first time, it’s essential to take the right steps before translating a word. That sometimes means starting small – saving money and reducing risk by building up your presence over time. Testing your USPs, and your brand, end-to-end, is an essential part of the process. PEL’s German launch was a success and they’ve seen continued growth and continuous orders from a brand new customer base.
